A multidisciplinary workshop combining collage and printmaking around the notion of chimeras. Participants will be invited to transform a collection of selected stories into curious bestiaries.
Biography:
Léa Valet is a multidisciplinary artist whose preferred mediums are ink drawing, printmaking, and micro-publishing, but she enjoys expanding her universe through various media. For several years, she has developed an artistic practice around the themes of bestiaries and cabinets of curiosities. Her work is divided between creation and offering workshops and mediation programs within numerous institutions: museums, schools, socio-cultural centres, prisons, reception centres for migrants, associations, and hospitals dedicated to mental health.
Léa Valet holds a Master's degree in Visual Arts and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. During her Master's in Arts, she focused on the question of imagination and its plasticity. Her research also revolves around the impact of graphic practices in detention spaces, with a field-based approach, combining workshops in prisons and psychiatric institutions. This research-creation project is currently pursued as part of her doctoral program at the University of Lille. Since September 2024, she has set up her studio in Differdange, within the 1535° Creative Hub.
