The exhibition delves into Italy's iconic cities and regions through three centuries of art. Works by Italian, Dutch, French, and British artists highlight idealistic landscapes, detailed views, and urban life scenes, all illuminated by Mediterranean light. Also included are whimsical compositions of ancient ruins in pastoral landscapes, like Gaspar van Wittel's Roman scenes, Canaletto's Venetian views, and Milan as interpreted by the futurist Umberto Boccioni. Visitors of all ages can craft their own digital capriccio, and activities for children include a quiz brochure.
