Melancholic melodies and danceable rhythms: Divanhana, originally from Sarajevo, reinvents traditional Balkan music by blending sevdah, jazz, folk, classical, and pop. Their sound combines emotion, modernity, and authenticity, revealing the cultural richness of their region.
Their album Zavrzlama was born in the midst of the pandemic. Recorded in Slovenia in early 2020 and mixed in Sarajevo in 2021, it reflects the isolation, reflection, and resilience of a people and a band deprived of a stage. Despite the distance, the members of Divanhana continued to create, exchange, and dream of music.
From these months of waiting emerged an album vibrant with energy and emotion, considered one of the most beautiful testimonies to contemporary sevdah.
