Conference - Guillaume Mazeau
Conference - How is comic art a suitable medium for the historian's profession?
Guillaume Mazeau is a lecturer in modern history at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He is a member of the Institute of the History of the French Revolution and a member of the editorial board of the Annales historiques de la Révolution française.
He enjoys studying the French Revolution, of course, but also history in all its forms, whether scholarly, playful, or fictional. He combines the scientific writing of history with outreach work – monuments and museums, comics, urban walks, film, series, or theater.
He is notably the author of Bain de l'Histoire (2009), dedicated to the assassination of Jean-Paul Marat by Charlotte Corday, but also of Histoire (2020), and also of Parcours Révolution, which invites you to discover the French Revolution in the streets of Paris, or of Notre Révolution (with Matt Dunhill), Delcourt/La Revue dessinée, Histoire dessinée de la France, 2025.
