"Notes on Weathering" by Bianca Bondi (born 1986 in Johannesburg, South Africa; lives and works in Paris) inaugurates the very specific context of the FORA program designed for the thirtieth anniversary of Casino Luxembourg. This evolving project, conceived by the artist for the underground spaces of Casino Luxembourg, asserts a particular temporality—subterranean, continuous, silent. These spaces, usually inaccessible to the public, are marked by humidity, darkness, and minerality, leading to natural degradation, deposits, corrosion, and transformations. In "Notes on Weathering", these phenomena are embraced as active forces gradually altering materials, forms, and relationships between elements. The term "notes" suggests a documentary, fragmentary, and open approach, with the project appearing as a series of observations, traces, and transitional states.
