The Family of Man collection brings together 503 photographs by 273 artists from 68 countries, assembled by Edward Steichen for the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA). First presented in 1955, this exhibition is a manifesto for peace and the fundamental equality of humankind through post-war humanist photography. It features works by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Dorothea Lange, Robert Doisneau, August Sander and Ansel Adams, among others. After travelling to more than 160 museums, its last complete version has been permanently installed at Château de Clervaux since 1994. Listed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register since 2003, it has welcomed more than 10 million visitors.
