At each Relais pour la Vie, walkers, runners, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, and visitors show their solidarity. Three key moments highlight their hope, determination, and the bonds that unite them. The Opening Ceremony: The "Battants' Lap of Honour" marks the start of Relais pour la Vie. This opening lap is completed by people who have been affected by cancer, encouraged by their families, friends, and the different teams taking part in the relay. The Candle Ceremony: At nightfall, candles are lit along the path. Each flame symbolizes remembrance, comfort, and hope. This ceremony pays tribute to those who have died from cancer, brings courage and hope to those still fighting, and celebrates those who have beaten the disease. The Closing Ceremony: This moment honors everyone who made the Relay possible, especially those who took turns walking or running on the track for 24 hours. As a finale, everyone comes together for a final lap.
