Guided tour of the permanent exhibition
Upon entering the main hall, visitors discover the new exhibition, composed of printed texts, documents and objects in display cases, mechanical devices, recordings, films, projections, infographics, and interactive screens. This diversity of media allows the exhibition to reach all audiences.
To give a voice to those who experienced this difficult era, the panels in the historical exhibition are accompanied by audio testimonies, accessible via QR codes that can be scanned with one's smartphone.
Although the exhibition mainly follows a thematic approach, two timelines on the ground floor and upper floor allow visitors to explore the details of history.
Visitors can also learn about men and women who were directly involved in these events through short biographies. In special "biographical niches" in the main hall, the stories of 28 historical figures and 16 current Luxembourg residents are presented, sharing their experiences as victims, civilians, or actors.
