Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Justina Lee Brown has become established on the international stage as a singer, songwriter, and performer. After her initial successes on the Nigerian afro-pop scene, she developed her career in Europe and is now regarded as one of the leading voices in the afro-funk, blues, and soul genres. In 2024, she was awarded the Swiss Blues Award.
Thanks to her energetic stage presence and a high-level band, she has impressed international festivals for years. Highlights of her career include the final of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, a concert for 60,000 people at Blues’n’Jazz in Rapperswil, and opening for Zucchero. In 2024, she also performed at Blues Express on the Carreau de la Mine stage in Lasauvage.
Her music draws deeply from West African traditions while incorporating global sounds and contemporary influences. After the albums Black and White Feeling and Lost Child, she will present in 2025 Echoes of Home, her most personal project to date—a powerful reflection on origins, identity, and musical belonging between continents.
