Anneke van Giersbergen is a Dutch singer-songwriter, known for her powerful and emotional voice, musical versatility, and captivating stage presence. After thirteen years as the frontwoman of The Gathering, she launched her solo career in 2007 and has since found great success. Anneke has collaborated with renowned artists such as Devin Townsend and Arjen Lucassen, and has participated in projects with Within Temptation, Árstiđir, Amorphis, Napalm Death, and John Wetton (King Crimson). In 2019, she received the Buma ROCKS! Export Award for her contribution to Dutch music worldwide. In 2021, her solo album 'The Darkest Skies Are The Brightest' revealed her personal inspiration and she appeared on the TV show 'Beste Zangers'. The Gathering reunited for the 30th anniversary of the album 'Mandylion', which led to a very successful comeback and an upcoming world tour in 2026 with Anneke and her former bandmates.
