With the conquest of Gaul, our regions were incorporated into the Roman sphere of influence in the 1st century BC. Benefiting from a period of relative prosperity, the vicus of Orolaunum became part of a road network that greatly facilitated the movement of goods and people. Through various means of transport, exotic objects, and numerous coins, archaeological discoveries offer a portrait of a society exchanging and interacting throughout the known world.
