Open workshop - participatory installation - Format 3 Magnet Wall, 2026, from 10am to 4:30pm
Format 3 is an ongoing work by Danish artists Louise Foo and Martha Skou (FOO/SKOU), exploring how sound can be experienced through visual, physical, and virtual media. At its core is a graphic score composed of 81 symbols forming a musical alphabet. Through an app and custom-designed spatial interfaces, visitors can activate the shapes to trigger sounds and syntheses, transforming this visual notation into an interactive sound environment. This work draws on the traditions of experimental music and graphic notation, extending them into contemporary, spatial, and tactile forms.
In the "noise state" version at the Konschthal, an interactive magnetic wall serves as a collective visual score. Visitors can rearrange the symbols, continuously evolving the composition through their participation.
The score can also be transformed into a collage, allowing everyone to take their creation home.
Family visit 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM (FR); 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM (LU)
The Konschthal offers a guided tour specially designed for families. Children and adults alike explore the exhibitions in a fun and interactive way, making art accessible to everyone. It's an intergenerational experience that sparks the imagination.
Visit: Cross Perspectives with Andrea Mancini 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM (FR)
Discussion about the works in the "state of noise" exhibition with Andrea Mancini, artist and curator, focusing on image, sound and memory.
Performance - Occurrence by Jérôme Grivel 5:00 PM – 5:15 PM
In this performance, Jérôme Grivel explores "vocal gestures," blending traditional and extreme singing techniques with sounds that push the limits of the human body. Using a microphone and an effects pedal to create loops, he layers the sounds to develop a dynamic where physical production attempts to rival technical skill.
