The Axis Syllabus© was developed by choreographer, dancer, and teacher Frey Faust in the late 1990s as a tool for promoting dancer health and virtuosity. With input from the international Axis Syllabus Research Meshwork (ASRM), research has continued to evolve and the book The Axis Syllabus©: Human Movement Lexicon is now in its sixth edition.
Each day, the workshop will introduce a new concept from the Axis Syllabus archive to prepare the body for dance. Theoretical and practical approaches facilitate healthy, effective, and conscious movement, sharing the joy of dancing.
27-28 May 2026: Baris Michi with Emanuela Iacopini – "Feeling the invisible" workshop on perception and creativity in movement.
29 May 2026: Frey Faust – floor-work session focused on safety and enjoyment in floor movement.
30 May 2026: Francesca Pedullà – "Arms from the Heart", connecting internal anatomy to dance gesture.
31 May 2026: Manuela Martella & Jérôme d’Orso – "HANDS in Contact Improvisation" workshop.
Artists will perform at 6pm on 31 May at VEDANZA STUDIOS as part of the DIVERSE Events 2026 programme.
