Corporealities of the Axis Syllabus in Movement
Masterclass series
The Axis Syllabus © was developed in the late 1990s by choreographer, dancer and teacher Frey Faust. Initially aimed at promoting dancers’ health, it evolved into a tool for achieving virtuosity and enhancing the pleasure of movement. With the support of the international Axis Syllabus Research Meshwork (ASRM), the book “The Axis Syllabus ©: Human Movement Lexicon” is now in its sixth edition.
Every day, a different concept from the Axis Syllabus archive will be offered to prepare the body for dancing: a look at the body, its complexity and poetry; theoretical and practical tools to help move in a healthy and conscious manner; the joy of dancing; finding grace in everyday actions to foster creative and performative potential.
- 27-28 May 2026: Baris Michi with Emanuela Iacopini – “Feeling the invisible”: workshop focusing on movement, perception and creativity.
- 29 May 2026: Frey Faust – “Going to Ground Floor-work”: tips and techniques for safe and effective floor work.
