A banjo and a remarkable voice: these are the trademarks of Rhiannon Giddens, named by NPR among the 25 most influential musicians of the 21st century. Now based in Ireland, the American-born artist explores the history of her native country through music, notably as artistic director of the Silkroad Ensemble. In 2023, she received the Pulitzer Prize for an opera for which she composed both the score and the libretto.
