Emerging from Arabic music and its improvised arabesques, Wajdi Riahi navigates between melodic elegance, measured ornamentation, and an assumed classicism that forms his personal language. A student of Eric Legnini, the young Tunisian pianist cites Giant Steps by John Coltrane as a reference standard and does not hesitate to explore the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, showing that his artistic curiosity is only matched by the freshness of his interpretations.
