For several years now, the piano master Grigory Sokolov has performed each year at the Philharmonie at the beginning of the festive season. Widely regarded as one of the greatest living pianists of our time, Sokolov will perform, among others, the last piano work by Franz Schubert: Sonata No. 21. Filled with poignant tenderness and unexpected turns, this masterpiece perfectly reflects the emotional turmoil Schubert likely felt in the face of his early fate.
