50 Years of the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est

To celebrate the golden anniversary between the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est and its audience, a sparkling program is offered. Orchestra's principal viola, composer Alain Celo, explores all the symphonic instrument's colors in a creation depicting the red-orange rocks of Colorado's Grand Canyon. The 1738 Guarneri del Gesu violin, played by Russian violinist Alena Baeva, ignites Mozart's Concerto No. 5, heralding the coming of romantic masterpieces. In the second part: the exuberant Viennese waltzes from Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss, then Ravel's famous Boléro, a piece with an unrelenting and enchanting sensuality.
