In 2019, the British newspaper The Guardian named "Let me tell you" by the Danish composer Hans Abrahamsen as "the most important work of the 21st century." Sung by soprano Ilse Eerens, this musical scene inspired by Shakespeare takes us into icy landscapes of breathtaking beauty. The orchestration is absolutely sumptuous and the vocal line displays profound romanticism. The same remarkable mastery of effects can be found in Suite No. 1 of "Peer Gynt" by Grieg, which includes some of the repertoire's most famous pages. Finnish conductor Emilia Hoving finally presents two masterpieces by Sibelius, notably Symphony No. 6, in which the orchestra gleams like the northern lights.
