The film "Dany Cage, story of an emancipation" will be screened at the legendary nightclub Flying Dutchman in Beaufort, where the fictional scenes were shot in July 2022. This screening is part of the 50th anniversary of the Flying! "Dany Cage: The Story of an Emancipation" is a docu-fiction directed by François Baldassare that traces the birth, life, and disappearance of a psychedelic rock club in Luxembourg at the end of the 1960s: The Dany Cage, located on Beaumont Street, in the heart of Luxembourg City. This legendary place existed only from 1969 to 1972, yet it left a lasting mark on its contemporaries. It was the era of the Vietnam War, the Summer of Love, May 68, and Woodstock: the youth aspired to more freedom. This testimonial film, constructed from a series of interviews with 18 witnesses of the time, as well as from archives and fictional recreations, shows how music played a decisive role in this emancipation process. The film was released in cinemas in Luxembourg in 2024. Don't miss this opportunity to discover or rediscover it!
