The next documentary in Doc & Talk: Living Together is "Pongo Calling" by Tomáš Kratochvíl. The film will be screened at Ciné Sura in Echternach at 19:30. "Pongo Calling" tells the story of a man who transforms his disagreement into true activism against prejudice and racial discrimination. Štefan Pongo shows how negative public discourse and blatant discrimination cause persistent misconceptions about Roma communities. This film raises many questions about coexistence between different communities and cultures. The discussion with Tomáš Kratochvíl will be in English, and a German translation will be available. The film will have English subtitles. Synopsis: Štefan Pongo is a Roma lorry driver who emigrated from the Czech Republic to the UK with his family to escape racial discrimination. Despite their successful new life, hateful remarks from back home persist. When the Czech president insults the Roma, Štefan mobilizes his community on social media, becomes a media figure, creates vlogs, and organizes anti-racism initiatives. However, his activism affects his family life.
