The Little Mermaid dreams of becoming human and having a soul because she loves the prince. Thanks to a potion from the witch, she loses her fish tail and takes human form. In return, she must give up her voice. She has three days – that is the witch's condition – to win the prince's love. If she fails before sunset on the third day, the little mermaid's life will turn to foam. The story seems to head for disaster, as the prince is about to fall for the witch's tricks. But Undine's love for the prince remains strong, enabling the sea witch to be exposed. The fairy tale ends well, making it perfect for children who are just starting out in life.
