Musical theatre show for children: Tolo & Scoia. When two argue, the third rejoices... Two squirrels, a quarrel and a few surprise guests: a story that remains deliberately simple. No fast picture changes, no spectacular effects. Instead, there is lots of paper, scissors and colors, hand-painted images that are moved and animated live in front of the audience, gently and with careful attention to detail and a unique elegance. The story is part of the "d’Semplice" series by Toile Si-Re. The focus is on real craftsmanship: tangible materials, moving, cutting, gluing and transforming paper. An invitation to rediscover how much can be created from simple things, without technological or electronic effort. A screen, camera and projector only enlarge what is handmade. Music is specially composed for the story and performed live on the saxophone, based on the modes of Olivier Messiaen. Strange and yet familiar, witty and surprising, it immerses the audience in a unique listening world and shows that even such unusual music can reach a very young audience.
