Butoh Workshop - Dance
Open to all levels, this workshop offers a three-day immersion into the world of Butoh, a dance born in Japan in the late 1950s and which has become one of the major sources of contemporary dance. Often associated with certain images that have become emblematic, Butoh invites us, above all, to explore what inside each of us seeks to dance. Over these three days, we will delve into the inner, sensitive, and intense dimension of this practice. Through guided exercises, improvisations, and personal exploration times, we will work on presence, listening, imagination, and body transformation. We will seek to let a dance emerge. Butoh carries within it the memory of many dances that have disappeared, been forgotten, or are yet to come. It connects us to something broader than our bodily habits: a dance that spans generations and cultures. This workshop is an invitation to transcend the limits: those of our representations, our automatisms, or even our very identity. No prior experience is required. Only curiosity, availability, and the desire to explore matter. The workshop takes place from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 12:50 PM to 3:00 PM. Please note that there are neither locker rooms nor showers. It is important to come dressed appropriately for the activity.
