ShekBand, a sibling group of young musicians, blends contemporary jazz with influences from Ukrainian folk music to create sensitive and vibrant music. Performing together since 2015, the trio has won more than 50 international awards and performed throughout Europe, contributing to the visibility of Ukrainian jazz. Highlights of their career include concerts at the Tremplin Jazz d’Avignon and the Jazz in the Park festival in Cluj-Napoca, alongside artists such as Ibrahim Maalouf, Robinson Khoury and Mammal Hands. The group has also opened several major jazz festivals in Ukraine and performed to sold-out audiences at venues including 32JazzClub. In 2026, ShekBand received the Ukrainian Jazz Prize, awarded by the Ukrainian Institute and the Europe Jazz Network. Through its music, the trio champions jazz as a space of freedom while introducing the richness of the contemporary Ukrainian cultural scene.
