Luxembourg self-taught documentary photographer Christian Kieffer has developed a humanist body of work shaped by his travels and encounters, particularly in Latin America. Through portraiture and black-and-white photography, he reveals the dignity, strength and individuality of the people he photographs. From December 2026, he presents twenty large-format photographs dedicated to the indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia. These intense black-and-white portraits pay tribute to women and men deeply connected to their land, culture and ancestral traditions. Presented in the former monks’ library of Abbaye de Neumünster, beneath Abraham Gilson’s frescoes, the works create a dialogue between cultures, eras and memories.
