As part of the 2026 European Heritage Days, the CNCI and LUCA are offering an architecture workshop for young audiences focusing on Belval’s industrial heritage. Designed as a journey in several stages, the workshop invites children to discover the history and architecture of a former steelmaking site, now transformed into a university and cultural district. Through observation of the site and a building activity using mini bricks, participants will be encouraged to reflect on the issues surrounding the transformation of former industrial sites. In connection with the theme “Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reinvent,” the workshop will explore how industrial buildings once threatened with abandonment or demolition can be reinvented and given new uses.
