Fantôme is a performance at the crossroads of digital arts, music and object theatre, based on an animated film and intended for large outdoor or indoor spaces. Immersing a thousand people in a powerful dreamlike adventure, the performance tells the story of a child named Fantôme who, despite himself, sparks a popular uprising and the collapse of a totalitarian system. It uses the narrative principle of the cine-concert—in which film and music are closely interconnected—but goes beyond it by bringing the living and movement into the midst of singular scenographic installations. The animated film is projected onto a moving set that unfolds in response to the events of the story, while the music is performed live by two musicians—guardians of the narrative and guides for the audience. Fantôme proposes countering the weight of reality with the power of imagination, drawing the audience into an immense poetic uprising.
