As part of Les Mardis de l’Actu, Serge Glibert, a clinical criminologist and theorist of libertarian and anarchist struggles, offers a reflection on police violence and contested policing practices during social movements. Drawing in particular on Gwénola Ricordeau’s book “1312 raisons d’abolir la police”, the conference will examine the foundations, functions and effects of police power, as well as the boundary between protection, repression and the control of protest.
