All the animals talk about the times when the fox prowled around. Fortunately, she hasn't been seen for a long time! But when the squirrel visits Inspector Gordon about a stolen stash of hazelnuts, he once again suspects the much-feared animal. To unmask the thief, he'll need Paddy the little mouse with her particularly sharp nose...
An unlikely yet endearing investigative duo: an old toad and a young mouse help the forest animals overcome their fears. The elegance of the animation, reminiscent of Miyazaki, is paired with the thoughtful message (tolerance): a real achievement.
Skillfully combining a detective story and self-discovery, this Swedish animated film is a lovely surprise.
