Chantal Maquet: The Weekend Is Cancelled

On the occasion of its 170th anniversary, BIL presents an exhibition by Chantal Maquet at the Galerie Indépendance. Combining scenes of work and leisure, past and present, the exhibition reveals the continuity of everyday life and offers a sensitive and contemporary reflection on collective memory. Three new works inspired by the Bank’s photographic archives explore the evolution of workspaces. Through her reinterpretations, the artist highlights the human stories that inhabit these places, reminding us that history is above all shaped by those who occupy them.
