The Metamkine Intervention Cell, formed by Christophe Auger, Xavier Quérel, and Jérôme Noetinger, delivers performances that combine 16mm film projections and electroacoustic music, inspired by the tradition of "expanded cinema." The musician and filmmakers share the stage, using mirrors and a screen to project live, creating an interplay between image and sound where the film projector is treated as an instrument, just like the reel-to-reel tape recorder. Cinema for the ears, music for the eyes. Since 1987, they have performed at numerous festivals, cinemas, galleries, and independent venues around the world, and regularly collaborate with other artists and groups including Nachtluft, Voice Crack, Kinobits, Loophole Cinema, Tom Cora, La Flibuste, and Le Cube.
