Provisional program: - Soil testing: discover the components, properties and construction methods adapted to a specific soil. You can bring your own soil sample for testing. - Summary of the Rotterdam Symposium, discussions with Bouw met Aarde, a Dutch reference for earth construction. - Rammed earth test with pneumatic rammer and modular formwork panels. Exhibition of a rammed earth wall. - Experimentation with different earth construction methods. - Presentation of an earth project in Luxembourg (to be confirmed). Why learn about earth construction? Raw earth is a natural, local and recyclable building material, used for millennia in both traditional and contemporary architecture. It naturally regulates humidity and improves thermal comfort, while requiring very little energy to process. This workshop is an opportunity to reconnect with skills deeply rooted in the Luxembourg region.
