Paleontologist for a Day: Fossil Hunting in Ottange
- outdoor
- nature
What if you went home with a fossil millions of years old, unearthed with your own hands? For a day, geologist and palaeontologist Jean-Philippe Blouet will take you to a fossil site in Ottange, just a stone’s throw from the Luxembourg border. The programme: learn to read the layers of rock, spot the clues, then uncover real fossils—shells, gastropods, sea urchins… Here, there’s no guesswork: you’re guaranteed to find something. Led by a researcher who prospectors for and prepares fossils for international museums, this outing is suitable for all levels, whether you’re with family or simply curious. Children love it, and so do adults. And to round off the day in style: a visit to a mining museum. A hands-on, fun and scientific experience to enjoy once… and often come back for.
