The lacquers of MyeongHee PARK. Artist Park Myeung-Hee communicates with the world through her works. Twenty-three years ago, she discovered Korean lacquer (otchil) and mother-of-pearl, traditional materials from her culture, and began her artistic journey. Her works carry her childhood questions about existence and the experiences she has lived through in her search for answers. Through meditation, she freed herself from her trauma and came closer to her true self. She hopes her works will act as healing art, bringing peace and happiness, and expressing bodhicitta, the Buddhist “awakening mind” that aspires to the good of all beings.
