As part of (capsules), Andréa Vamos transforms a shop window into a collective dissemination device whose symbolic content has been perforated. The installation draws on Yugoslav postcards depicting spomeniks, anti-fascist memorial monuments from former Yugoslavia. Assembled into a patchwork and cut along the monuments’ silhouettes, the postcards reveal a work from the Archives of Monuments series. The project questions the circulation of political narratives, collective memory and the persistence of collective desire after the disappearance of the ideologies that structured these images.
