Martinů’s Three Madrigals — an extraordinary dialogue between violin and viola
- piano
- musical
We invite you to an exceptional chamber music evening with Olha Petryk (violin) and Ryou Banno (viola), members of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra. At the heart of the programme are the Three Madrigals by the Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů — a masterpiece considered one of the finest works written for violin and viola since Mozart. This work will be introduced in English by Geoffrey Piper, a former member of the committee of the International Martinů Circle, who will share with the audience the story of the composer and his work. The concert is organised by Resonance a.s.b.l., a Luxembourg non-profit cultural association that creates cultural projects with resonance. Admission is free. A collection will be organised in aid of Aid Raid, a Luxembourg-based humanitarian association that helps people affected by the war in Ukraine.
