Wanterfest - The winter festival for the whole family

Ready for a cosy winter weekend surrounded by animals, local crafts and festive vibes? On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, the Escher Déierepark transforms for its annual Wanterfest, a warm and family-friendly celebration at the heart of the Gaalgebierg. Over two days, you can browse local artisan stalls, listen to beautiful winter stories, meet the animals and their keepers, and take part in small creative workshops for kids. And of course, there will be plenty of food and drinks to keep you going throughout the day, along with musical entertainment to set the festive mood. The highlight? A covered artificial ice rink near the educational farm, open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A limited number of skates are available in sizes 29 to 41, or you can bring your own as long as they don’t have picks. Even better: the ice rink is climate-neutral and uses no energy!
