The novel "Zwei Herren am Strand" by Michael Köhlmeier gained accolades and captivated readers upon its release in 2014. Charlie Chaplin and Winston Churchill meet on a beach, where amidst ocean waves, personal suffering, and the disasters of the 20th century, they form a bond. They make a pact against the "black dog": whenever one feels despondent, they can call for the other's help. This alliance faces challenges as an unexpected third character appears: Adolf Hitler, who is said to have considered suicide at the age of six. This project, contributed to by the late Frank Feitler, former director of the Théâtres de la Ville, is masterfully brought to the stage by director Ivan Panteleev. Featuring renowned actors Luc Feit and Steve Karier, the essence of this poignant and sensitive work is brought to vibrant life on stage.
