The traveling exhibition in French and German, presented from March 8 to September 15 at the National Museum in Esch-sur-Alzette, explores the lives and experiences of approximately 7000 women deported from France and Luxembourg to the Ravensbrück concentration camp as part of politically motivated repression. It highlights the diversity of these women’s social and national backgrounds and demonstrates how resistance and persecution were shaped by traditional gender roles. The multifaceted aspects of resistance, detention, and survival are narrated through selected biographies.
Good to know
The exhibition is bilingual in French and German. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 6 PM. Closed on Mondays.
