BELOW – A musical journey between sky and stone On Sunday, 5 July 2026, the Slate Museum invites you to BELOW, an extraordinary travelling concert performed by the Luxembourg Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Matthias Rajczyk. The concert route will lead through the museum grounds and the impressive Johanna underground mine, 42 metres below ground. Visitors will move from one location to another, discovering a series of musical performances in this unique setting. Between sky and stone, light and darkness, industrial heritage and artistic expression, the voices of the Ensemble Vocal du Luxembourg will resonate in underground galleries and on the surface, creating an unforgettable immersive experience. Several musical stops will punctuate the journey underground, enhanced by the galleries’ exceptional acoustics. Additional performances on the surface will enrich this artistic and heritage experience. This musical promenade offers a rare opportunity to rediscover the former slate mine from a totally new angle – where heritage, music and emotion meet. A unique event for lovers of choral music, history and industrial heritage.
