Cirque Nouveau lonely people will be sold to the circus tells the story of one last attempt to fight loneliness. Here stands a circus. A female director, a male director. On the verge of disappearance, on the verge of collapse, searching for a way out, a path to escape the deafening silence. The place is empty. The music has stopped. Loneliness floats in the air, so strong that you almost want to cover your ears. And then... a quiet sound, a little melody. People arrive, with all their belongings, a trampoline and a guitar, stories and ideas. And this question: what if loneliness was not an end but the beginning of something to be shared? MASKéNADA's first Cirque Nouveau piece, this show stands at the crossroads of circus, music, and performance, and explores loneliness and social connection in an ever more connected—yet ever more individualized—society.
