Show & CultureShow & CultureHISTOFEST explores the idea of heroes in Europe through the exhibition “The (un)making of heroes”, hands-on activities, film screenings and a roundtable. The selection of photographs and short films includes figures such as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Lech Wałęsa, Lenin, Leopold II and Pope John Paul II, as well as ordinary people confronting the idea of greatness.

From 6:00 p.m.: Welcome reception and opening of the exhibition “The (un)making of heroes”: tour and discussion with Dr Simina Bădică (House of European History, Brussels) and Dr Dora Komnenović (C²DH). Reception Hands-on activity in the exhibition From 7:30 p.m.: Be Somebody (original version with English subtitles) and Spiritus Sanctus (original version with English and French subtitles). Films and discussion with Michał Toczek (director, Warsaw) “The Polish Solidarność movement through a few objects”, presentation of objects from the collection of the KARTA Centre Foundation in Warsaw Participation is free, but registration is required, either online (up to 24 hours before the event) or on site (on the day of the event).
