A creation to (re)explore at the Abbaye de Neumünster where the private collection of the Wercollier family is reinstalled in the Abbey's ambulatory, with scenography specially designed for this location. While Wercollier's sculptures appear in many collections and public museums in Luxembourg and abroad (Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris, Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Olympic Sculptures Park in Seoul, European Parliament in Strasbourg, and others), this permanent exhibition is the only collection documenting the life and work of one of the great artists of the 20th century. Born in 1908, Lucien Wercollier passed away in 2002 at the age of 94. Between these years, his training periods in Brussels and Paris, discoveries of Maillol, Brancusi, and Arp, along with the war years, arrest, imprisonment in Grund prison followed by deportation to Germany and Silesia, transformed a talented sculptor into an exceptional artist, in pursuit of "the most harmonious agreement between lines, structures, forms, and meaning, a deeper and ever-perfect agreement" (G.
