Guided Tour – Architects of the Future
In the framework of The Bank, a project by SUPERFLEX, Mudam organises special guided tours dedicated to the architecture and history of the museum. Participants will first learn about the design and history of this landmark by Pritzker Prize winning architect Ieoh Ming Pei and discover how Mudam has changed the landscape of Luxembourg.
Then, participants will be invited to imagine the future architecture of Mudam and its surrounding park. To do so, they will have the chance to play with the clay blocks assembled during the Building Your Bank drop-in workshop, and together create a collective "city of banks" right outside Mudam’s unique building. Their participation will serve as a blueprint for SUPERFLEX’s project of creating a permanent installation in Park Dräi Eechelen.
Biography:
SUPERFLEX was founded in 1993 by Jakob Fenger, Bjørnstjerne Christiansen and Rasmus Rosengren Nielsen. Conceived as an expanded collective, SUPERFLEX has consistently worked with a wide variety of collaborators, from gardeners to engineers to audience members. Their projects take many forms, including energy systems, beverages, sculptures, copies, hypnosis sessions, infrastructure, paintings, plant nurseries, contracts and public spaces. Engaged in major public space projects, SUPERFLEX embraces the participation of local communities, specialists, children, and even other species in its recent works.
